Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is providing, with continuous endeavor, economic, adequate, punctual and efficient service to the traveling public in the State. Corporation is the only State Transport Undertaking in the Country to have reached to almost all the villages in the State. Corporation is providing passenger services to commuters with the help of 247 depots and 578 bus stations located at Tahsils and important traffic Centres.

Corporation has made conscious efforts to implement new and innovative ideas to bring in improvement in services provided to the passengers. As a part of this, a change has been made in the internal structure of the passenger bus. Parivartan buses with 2x2 seating arrangement are put in operation. Seating arrangement provided in Semi-Luxury has been made more comfortable and the number of buses are augmented in this category. The air-conditioned bus "Shivneri" has become major attraction of traveling public. In addition to this, 32 seater midi buses have become popular in a rural and tribal areas. The number of these buses will be increased in near future. A decision is taken to reduced the life of bus to 8 years from 10 years to have a young fleet and the same is being implemented.

Passenger friendly schemes such as " Annual Concession Card", "monthly- quarterly passes", "travel as you like" are already introduced which are becoming popular and attracting the passengers as well to compete with private operators. The use of Electronic Ticket Issuing Machine for issuing tickets to the passengers will be implemented throughout the State in near future. So also, computerized reservation facility will be extended from approximately 215 bus stations. Corporation has made available the facility of "e-ticket" from January 2010 as well as through mobile phone.

More emphasis is given on cleanliness of buses, punctuality of the services, courteous behavior with passengers, providing accident free service and safe travel to the passengers. A Toll Free facility on Phone No.1800 22 1250 is provided for passengers' guidance.
